RAWALPINDI: The security forces killed seven khwarij (terrorists) in two separate operations in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province in the last two days.

“On February 8 and 9, seven khwarij were sent to hell in two separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

The security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in general area Maddi, Dera Ismail Khan district, on reported presence of khwarij. “The troops effectively engaged the khwarij location, as a result of which three khwarij, including Kharji Rehmat, were sent to hell, while two khwarij got injured.”

Another IBO was conducted in general area Mir Ali, North Waziristan district. In ensuing fire exchange, four khwarij were neutralised by the security forces, while three khwarij got injured. “Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other kharji in the area, as security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country,” the ISPR said.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Sunday appreciated the security forces for carrying out successful operations against khwarij in Dera Ismail Khan and North Waziristan. He paid tribute to security forces for killing seven khwarij in the operations. “The entire nation salutes the security forces for valiantly fighting terrorists,” Shehbaz said. “We are fully committed to rooting out all types of terrorism from the country.”
