LAHORE: In a thrilling conclusion to the 15th PBCC T-20 Blind Cricket Trophy (Grade 2), Gujranwala claimed victory over Quetta by 4 wickets in a high-intensity final at Jinnah Cricket Stadium. The exciting match showcased remarkable performances from both teams and concluded with Gujranwala celebrating their win amidst loud applause from spectators.

Winning the toss, Gujranwala opted to field first, a decision that proved successful as they restricted Quetta to 166 for 8 in 20 overs. Quetta’s innings was anchored by Nadir Ali (34 off 24 balls) and Naseeb Ullah (32 off 30 balls). However, Gujranwala’s bowlers delivered under pressure, with standout performances from Israr Hassan, who took 3 wickets, and Akram and Qasim, who picked one wicket each.

Chasing a competitive total, Gujranwala displayed resilience and skill, reaching 167 for 6 in 18.5 overs. Israr Hassan continued his remarkable performance, scoring a match-winning 69 off 44 balls. His partnership with Muhammad Akram, who contributed 63 off 53 balls, ensured a successful chase. For Quetta, Niamat Ullah was the standout bowler, claiming 3 wickets. Man of the Match award was given to Israr Hassan.

The closing ceremony featured distinguished guests, including Commissioner Gujranwala Naveed Hyder Sherazi, Divisional Sports Officer Dr. Faisal Mir Khan, and Khalid Minhas, MD of Minhas Pipe Industry, Gujranwala. Awards were presented to the players, highlighting exceptional contributions throughout the tournament.
