KARACHI: Minister of Commerce Jam Kamal Khan chaired a high-level meeting at the National Insurance Corporation Limited (NICL) on Monday to review the progress of Wexnet 2024 and the 18th OIC Trade Fair, set to take place from November 29 to December 1, 2024, at the Expo Centre Lahore.
The meeting was attended by Secretary TDAP Sheryar Taj, Chief Executive TDAP Zubair Motiwala, and senior officials from the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP). During the session, TDAP officials presented a detailed briefing on the planning and execution strategies for these flagship events.
The minister highlighted the importance of Wexnet 2024 as a premier platform for promoting women entrepreneurs and directed TDAP to enhance efforts in showcasing their achievements. He also emphasised the critical role of both events in advancing Pakistan’s trade development and boosting exports on a global scale.
Stressing the need for meticulous planning, strong outreach and impactful representation, the minister called on all stakeholders to ensure the events achieve their full potential in promoting Pakistan’s business and trade capabilities.
Wexnet 2024 is dedicated to empowering women entrepreneurs by providing them with a platform to exhibit their products and innovations. Meanwhile, the 18th OIC Trade Fair offers a unique opportunity for member countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to network, collaborate and explore trade opportunities.
Both events aim to strengthen Pakistan’s trade ties with global partners and support the country’s export-driven growth strategy. TDAP reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive trade development and providing opportunities to showcase Pakistan’s export potential.
