LAHORE: Pakistan all-rounder Haris Sohail has firmly denied rumours circulating on social media about his retirement from international cricket.
“I have not made any decision to retire, nor do I have any such intention. My full focus is on continuing to play the game that I love,” Haris stated.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also confirmed that they had received no official communication regarding Haris’s retirement. Haris Sohail’s international career began in 2013 and since then he has played in 16 Test matches, 45 ODIs and 14 T20Is. He scored 2,806 runs across all formats hitting 4 centuries, 17 half-centuries.
Haris last played for Pakistan in January 2023 during a three-match ODI series against New Zealand on home soil, where his performances were below expectations with scores of 32, 10, and 22. Despite this, the selectors showed faith in him by naming him in the squad for another ODI series against New Zealand later that year. An injury ruled him out of the series, putting his international career on hold.
