LAHORE: The Lahore Regional Cricket Association (LRCA) has announced the postponement of the Under-15 Cricket Tournament, which was scheduled to begin on Friday, due to unforeseen circumstances.
The new dates will be announced later and as many as six teams will participate in the tournament, which aims to prepare young cricketers for the upcoming national under-15 tournament.
Two matches were scheduled for the opening day as Lahore Whites was to face Lahore Reds at the Ittefaq LRCA Ground while Lahore Silvers was meeting Lahore Yellows at the Model Town Greens Ground. The tournament will be played in coloured kits and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) panel’s top match officials will be deployed for the matches.
It is worth noting that the Lahore region secured second position in the national under-16 tournament last year and also reached the super three stage in the national under-13 tournament.
“This tournament will provide a great opportunity for young cricketers to showcase their talent and gain experience playing in a competitive environment.
The LRCA’s efforts to promote junior cricket are commendable and will surely contribute to the development of cricket in the region,” said Kh Nadeem.
