PESHAWAR: A team of the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) was attacked by armed locals in Tehkal on Tuesday while disconnecting illegal connections from shops near Tango Adda.

Police lodged a roznamcha or daily diary at the Tehkal Police Station and no first information report was registered.

Senior officials of the SNGPL had demanded proper action against the armed attackers who had fired at the staff as well. An official of the SNGPL said one worker, Ibrar, was wounded when hit by iron rods by the accused Shehzad along with four others.
