Gold prices up by Rs1,500 per tola, reaching new highs

KARACHI: Gold prices in the local market increased by Rs1,500 per tola on Monday, following a rise in the international market. With this latest surge, gold prices in Pakistan have once again reached new record highs, reflecting the global trend of increasing demand for the precious metal.

According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of gold per tola climbed to Rs309,500, marking a significant increase. Similarly, the price of 10-gram gold rose by Rs1,286, bringing it to Rs265,346.

In the international market, gold prices recorded an increase of $12 per ounce, reaching $2,948. The local gold market continues to adjust prices in accordance with international trends, with a premium of $20 applied to domestic rates.

The upward movement in gold prices also affected silver rates, which rose by Rs15 per tola, bringing the new rate to Rs3,395 per tola. The price of 10-gram silver also increased by Rs13, reaching Rs2,910.
