ISLAMABAD: The Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Friday convened a meeting to discuss the arrangements for the 14th edition of the South Asian Games to be hosted by Pakistan from January 23 to January 31.
Besides Islamabad, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Narowal will host 27 sports events. Rana Sanaullah, Minister for IPC, and Minister Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal were briefed by Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) and Ministry for IPC officials on the required arrangements to hold the event in a befitting manner. “Besides the Shanghai Conference, the country hosted the Champions Trophy and now are preparing to host the SA Games in January 2026. Holding such events always helps in spreading the soft image of the country,” Rana Sanaullah said.
The minister also underscored that the Punjab government and the Islamabad administration are actively working to provide state-of-the-art sports venues and top-tier hospitality for athletes and officials.
