LAHORE: In a strategic move ahead of the 10th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Quetta Gladiators have announced the appointment of veteran cricketer and former Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed as their team director.

This marks a new chapter in Sarfraz’s long-standing association with the franchise. Sarfraz Ahmed has been a pivotal figure for the Quetta Gladiators since the PSL’s inception in 2016. Under his captaincy, the team reached three finals between 2016 and 2019, including their maiden and only title win in 2019.

Despite his reduced on-field appearances in recent years, Sarfraz’s tactical acumen and wealth of experience make him an ideal fit for this off-field leadership role. As team director, Sarfraz will be responsible for shaping the Gladiators’ strategies and guiding the squad throughout the tournament. The franchise hopes to draw on his deep understanding of the game and leadership skills to restore their competitive edge and reclaim their past glory.

Beyond this role, Sarfraz was recently appointed as mentor for the Champions Cup team, Engro Dolphins, reflecting his growing influence in the cricketing world. With the PSL 2025 season fast approaching, fans are optimistic about the impact of Sarfraz’s strategic insights on the Gladiators’ performance.
