LAHORE: Alam Group of Companies has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with JA Solar, a leading global manufacturer of high-performance photovoltaic products, for the supply of 300 megawatts of solar panels, signalling a significant step in Pakistan’s drive towards clean energy.
The agreement, formalised at the Solar Pakistan Exhibition at the Expo Centre Lahore, will see JA Solar providing its top-tier solar panels to support Alam Group’s renewable energy initiatives across residential, commercial, industrial and agricultural sectors, according to a statement released Monday.
“This collaboration with JA Solar is a major step towards achieving Pakistan’s renewable energy targets,” said Director of Alam Group Mian Adeel Shafiq Alam. “By bringing high-quality, efficient solar panels to the market, we are not only reducing dependency on fossil fuels but also strengthening our ties with our brotherly country, China, which continues to support Pakistan’s energy sector.” Country Manager JA Solar Pakistan Ubaid Sheikh expressed confidence in the partnership, saying that the MoU “will accelerate the adoption of renewable energy in Pakistan, ensuring long-term energy sustainability and economic growth.”
