Australia’s Steve Smith announced on Wednesday that he has called it quits from the 50-over format following their International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions Trophy 2025 exit.

In the aftermath of Australia’s Champions Trophy exit, Smith announced his retirement from the ODI format.

“It has been a great ride and I have loved every minute of it,” said Smith in a statement to Cricket Australia.

“There have been so many amazing times and wonderful memories. Winning two World Cups was a great highlight along with the many fantastic team-mates who shared the journey,” he added.
