LAHORE: Bangladesh will face Scotland in the 10th match of the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier 2025 at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.

This high-stakes clash marks the first-ever ODI meeting between the two teams, with Bangladesh seeking to solidify their position in the competition. The ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier 2025 features six teams competing for two spots in the World Cup scheduled for later this year in India. As the tournament unfolds in Pakistan from April 9 to April 19, Bangladesh hold the advantage as they rank seventh in the ICC standings, above Scotland, who sit ninth.

Bangladesh enter this match in excellent form, with a well-balanced squad led by captain Nigar Sultana. The skipper has been their most consistent batter, scoring 93 runs across three innings, including a half-century in her second outing. She will look to anchor the innings and provide stability against Scotland’s bowlers.

Nahida Akhtar leads the bowling attack with her consistent left-arm spin, having picked up 12 wickets in her last 10 matches at an economy of only 4. With support from experienced bowlers such as Fahima Khatun and Salma Khatun, Bangladesh’s attack poses a formidable challenge.

The Scotland lineup have demonstrated promise but remain under pressure to perform against higher-ranked teams. Sarah Bryce has been their standout batter, scoring a top 55 off 56 balls in a previous match and showcasing her ability to build innings. She will need strong support from the likes of Kathryn Bryce and Alisa Lister to post a competitive total.

Bangladesh holds the advantage in this contest, thanks to their superior ranking and form. With key players like Nigar Sultana and Nahida Akhtar leading the charge, they are expected to overcome Scotland Women’s challenge. However, Scotland’s young talents and disciplined bowling attack could make this a closer battle.

Meanwhile Ireland will meet Thailand in the ninth match of the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier 2025, set to be played at the LCCA Cricket Ground in Lahore on Tuesday morning. Both teams will be looking to strengthen their campaigns in this competitive tournament.

Ireland enter this match as favorites, boasting a stronger squad overall. Their batting lineup is led by Orla Prendergast, who has been in remarkable form with 352 runs from 12 matches, including a century and a half-century. She will be pivotal in setting the tone for Ireland’s innings. Gaby Lewis provides stability at the top, while captain Laura Delany adds experience in the middle order.
