KARACHI: Bank Alfalah on Thursday announced that its cardholders can add their credit and debit cards or digital credentials to Google Wallet on Android and Wear OS devices, a statement said.
This move highlights the bank’s commitment to enhancing digital accessibility and security for its customers.Customers can download the Google Wallet app from the Google Play Store, add their Bank Alfalah credit and debit card or digital credentials, and use it instantly for secure and convenient transactions in stores, apps, and on the web, where contactless payments are accepted.
In a separate statement on Thursday, Faysal Bank Ltd (FBL) announced that it is set to offer its customers a unique feature, whereby its cardholders will be able to add their cards on Google Wallet.
Google Wallet, the global mobile-payment-service-provider, has officially launched its services in Pakistan, and Faysal Bank’s cardholders will be able to digitise their cards onto Google Wallet, facilitating seamless, contactless transactions at millions of merchants worldwide, including in Pakistan.
Google Wallet provides users a convenient and secure way to make payments in stores where contactless payments are accepted, in apps, and on the web. With multiple layers of security, including industry-standard tokenization, transactions are processed using a virtual card number, ensuring enhanced protection. In case of a lost or stolen device, ‘Find My Device’ function allows them to lock their device instantly, secure it with a new password, or wipe it clean of personal information.
