ISLAMABAD: PML-N’s parliamentary leader in Senate and Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs Chairman Irfan Siddiqui has emphasised that US President Donald Trump has acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts in combating terrorism, as the war against terrorism is a shared interest of both the United States and Pakistan.
Talking to media outside the Parliament House on Thursday, Senator Siddiqui said the United States had left behind stockpiles of weapons in Afghanistan which are now being used for terrorism in Pakistan.
Recalling the tragic Peshawar Army Public School attack, he said during such times, national unity was paramount. Senator Siddiqui said Pakistan made the most sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. “No one has faced more terrorism than Pakistan and no one has made as many efforts that we have made to eliminate terrorists,” he said.
