ISLAMABAD: Foreign missions in Pakistan expressed condemnation and pledged strong support for the country’s fight against terrorism after 26 people were killed and more than 40 injured in a bomb blast at a railway station in Quetta.

In a message, the Embassy of France condemned the “heinous act of terrorism perpetrated in Quetta” and expressed solidarity with its victims and their families. It also affirmed its support for Pakistan in the anti-terrorism fight. “Our thoughts are with the [Quetta bombing] victims and their loved ones. We stand with Pakistan against terrorism,” it said.

The German Embassy also expressed shock and condemnation following the Quetta railway station bombing, calling it “horrible.” It said that there could be “no justification for such a heinous act.” “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims,” the embassy said in a message, wishing a quick recovery to those injured.

Similarly, the Embassy of Turkiye condemned the Quetta terrorist attack “in the strongest possible terms,” extending condolences to the people of Pakistan and sending wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured. It reaffirmed its “commitment to continue supporting” Pakistan in its fight against terrorism. The Russian Embassy also strongly condemned the Quetta terrorist attack and expressed “deepest condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery to all those injured.”
