KARACHI: Ghani Glass defeated Higher Education by 10 wickets on the second day of the third round of the President’s Trophy Grade One cricket tournament here on Tuesday.

Haseeb-ur-Rehman of the winning team took 9 wickets in the match and Sharjeel Khan scored half-centuries in both innings. Ghani Glass was given a target of 102 runs to win the match against Higher Education at the UBL Sports Complex, which it achieved without any loss.

Kashif Ali scored 44 with the help of 10 fours and Sharjeel Khan scored 54 runs with the help of 3 sixes and 5 fours and both were not out. Sharjeel Khan scored 75 runs in the first innings.

Earlier, the Higher Education team was bowled out for 152 runs in its second innings. Abdullah Fazal scored 89 runs with the help of thirteen fours and a six. Haseeb ur Rehman took 3 wickets for 30 runs, thus dismissing 9 players in the match.

Ghani Glass’s team was bowled out for 191 runs in its first innings. Muhammad Azab took 6 wickets for 55 runs. He has so far taken 22 wickets in three matches of the President’s Trophy, including a brilliant performance of five wickets in an innings three times.

At the KCCA Stadium, OGDCL team was bowled out for 346 runs in the first innings against WAPDA. Sardar Hassan Raza was the top scorer with 81 runs. Asghar Durrani. Ali Raza and Khalid Usman took three wickets each.

WAPDA scored 168 runs for 4 wickets in their first innings at the end of the game. Mohammad Ammar was not out on 58 runs. At the State Bank Ground, KRL scored 286 runs for 6 wickets in their first innings in reply to PTV’s 335 runs. Waqar Ahmed scored 172 runs not out with the help of 12 fours and 3 sixes.

At the NBP Sports Complex, State Bank team was bowled out for 300 runs in their first innings in reply to SNGPL’s 242 runs. Ghazi Ghauri 83 not out Imran Butt 75 Ramiz Aziz 68 and Omar Amin were the standouts with 51 runs. Qasim Akram and Arafat Minhas took three wickets each. At the end of the game, SNGPL had scored 78 runs for 2 wickets in their second innings.
