Nadir beats Abubakar to move into final

ISLAMABAD: Nadir Mirza overwhelmed Abubakar Talha in straight sets to move into the final of the second leg of the ITF Juniors here at the PTF Complex Courts Thursday.

Nadir beat Abubakar Talha 7-5, 6-1 to move into the final where he will now meet Takaya Ishi (JPN) who outplayed Rodion Likashov (KAZ) 6-1, 6-4 in the boys’ singles second semis. Alissa Korolyova (KAZ) and former Pakistani girl Haniya Aman Minhas (KSA), who represents Saudi Arabia now, won girls’ semis.

Results: Boys’ singles semi-finals: Nadir Mirza (Pak) bt Abubakar Talha (Pak) 7-5, 6-1; Takaya Ishi(JPN) bt Rodion Likashov (KAZ) 6-1, 6-4. Girls’ singles semi-finals: Alissa Korolyova (KAZ) bt Yelizaveta Slepchenko (KAZ) 6-3, 5-7, 6-2; Haniya Aman Minhas (KSA) bt Serife Pelin Sari (TUR) 6-2, 6-1.

Boys’ doubles quarter-finals: Yuxuan Li(CHN) & Haolin Liu(CHN) bt Keitaro (INA) Rodion Lukashov(KAZ) 6-3, 6-4; Abubakar Talha (PAK) & Luke Jie Xi Ho(SGP) bt Arjan Singh Dhami(SGP) Nabeel Ali Qayum (PAK) 6-2, 6-1.

Girls’ doubles quarter-finals: Aruzhan Bayalina & Sofiya Malysheva (KAZ) bt Anna Stepanyants (RUS) & Nala Maskey(USA) 6-0, 6-3; Alissa Korolyova (KAZ) & Yelizaveta Slepchenko (KAZ) bt Amna Ali Qayum (PAK) & Serife Pelin Sari (TUR) 4-6, 6-3(10-5).
