KARACHI: Pakistan’s shooting team is to participate in the Asian Rifle/Pistol Cup that is to be held in Bangkok, Thailand from February 9-22.
The players of the team include Ghulam Mustafa Bashir, M Shabbir, and Kishmala Talat. “The players have demonstrated exceptional potential and are deemed suitable to represent Pakistan in the subject competition,” said Secretary National Rifle Association of Pakistan Razi Ahmed Khan.
He added that the shooters have been selected through a transparent and merit-based process based on their latest national rankings, recent performance metrics, and overall potential. “G M Bashir is number one shooter in 25m Rapid Fire Pistol event with bronze medal in ISSF World Championship Cairo, Egypt, and gold medal in national shooting championships 2024 while he participated in three Olympics after winning Quota Places,” said the secretary.
Similarly, he added, Kishmala Talat is number one shooter in 25m Pistol event with bronze medal in Asian Games Hangzhou 2023, silver medal in Asian Championship Jakarta 2024, and gold medal in national shooting championship 2024 while she participated in Paris Olympics after winning Quota Place. “M Shabbir is number two in 25m Rapid Fire Pistol event with silver medal in national shooting championship 2024,” said the secretary.
