KARACHI: The developers and engineers working on the National Cricket Stadium Friday handed over the stadium to the PCB management.
The officials in the PCB, when contacted, said: “The development work was in full swing these days to complete the task on time as the preparations for ICC Champions Trophy are in the final stages. Three matches would be played at National Stadium.”
The officials added that the engineers handed over the stadium to the management but some minor and finishing work would be continued. Meanwhile, development work on the pedestrian bridge to connect the National Stadium to the National Coaching Center at Sir Shah Suleman Road, had also been started few days back.
The bridge would be a unique part of the renovation project and development project of National Cricket Stadium, especially when foreign visiting teams would use the bridge for entrance into the stadium.
To improve broadcast coverage, 350 LED lights have been installed, ensuring optimal visibility for global audience. Two digital replay screens have already been fixed, and 5,000 new chairs have been installed to enhance spectators’ comfort.
