ISLAMABAD: Local player Noor Zaman overwhelmed Hazem Hossam of Egypt in keenly-contested four games to move into the quarter-finals of Chief of the Air Staff (CAS)-Serena Hotels International Squash Championship here at Mushaf Squash Complex, Tuesday.
Noor won 12-10, 11-9, 10-12, 11-9 in 38 minutes. He could have finished off the match in straight games and was leading 9-7 at one stage.
A few reckless shots however resulted in taking the match to fourth game.
“Yes, I should have finished it in straight games. I put up the same pressure in the next, finishing off the match in four games.”
Nasir Iqbal and Ashab Irfan also made it to quarter-finals winning their matches in style.
