PCB gives Saim 10 weeks to get fit

ISLAMABAD: Sanity finally prevailed as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has given 10 weeks in all for Saim Ayub to recover and start playing competitive cricket again.

Earlier, the PCB was planning to get Saim fit to play in the Champions Trophy but that was only a wishful thinking. In a latest update about Saim, the PCB added that Saim was progressing well regarding his recovery from a right ankle fracture and will continue his rehabilitation in England.

Following the comprehensive MRI scans, X-rays and medical assessments, Saim had been ruled out for 10 weeks from the date of injury (January 3). His availability for the New Zealand tour will be subject to clearing all fitness tests and medical requirements. Pakistan will tour New Zealand for five T20Is and three ODIs from March 16 to April 5, which will be followed by the Pakistan Super League, which starts on April 8.
