LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and USA Cricket CEO Johnathan Atkeison held crucial talks in Washington, discussing various initiatives to strengthen cricket ties between the two nations. During the meeting, also attended by PSL CEO Salman Naseer, both cricket boards explored several key proposals.
In the proposed initiatives, they planned a potential tri-series featuring Pakistan, USA, and Canada, initiate a bilateral series between Pakistan and USA in both men’s and women’s cricket, launch training programs for USA cricket coaches in Pakistan and opt for player development collaboration.
“There are immense opportunities for cricket promotion between Pakistan and USA,” Naqvi stated during the meeting. The PCB chairman extended an invitation to Atkeison to visit Pakistan during the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
The meeting marks a significant step toward cricket development in the United States, with Pakistan offering its expertise and resources to support USA Cricket’s growth. Atkeison expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s support and the Champions Trophy invitation.
This collaboration could open new avenues for cricket development in both countries, particularly beneficial for USA Cricket as it seeks to establish itself in the international cricket arena. The partnership could prove instrumental in developing cricket infrastructure and talent in the United States while providing Pakistan with opportunities to expand its cricket influence globally.
