KARACHI: Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik accompanied by the Additional Secretary (Policy) of the Petroleum Division Zafar Abbas visited the head office of Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) in Karachi on Thursday.
This marked the minister’s first official visit to PPL since assuming office, according to a statement issued by the company.Upon arrival, the minister was warmly welcomed by PPL’s Managing Director and CEO Imran Abbasy, who introduced him to the company’s senior leadership, including members of the Executive Committee.
The minister received a comprehensive briefing on PPL’s legacy, core operations and key achievements in exploration and production over the past three years. The management outlined the company’s success in significantly boosting its output in natural gas, crude oil and mining operations.
The MD also provided an overview of PPL’s forward-looking strategies aimed at driving sustained growth and strengthening national energy security. He further highlighted operational and strategic challenges currently faced by the company and sought continued support from the ministry in addressing these effectively.
The minister expressed his appreciation for PPL’s performance and the efforts of its management in reinforcing the country’s energy sector. He also offered insights and guidance on navigating future challenges and reaffirmed the ministry’s full support for the company’s initiatives.
