PTV outclass Ghani Glass by 7 wickets

KARACHI: PTV defeated Ghani Glass by 7 wickets in the fifth round match of the President’s Trophy Grade-1 at the KCCA Stadium here Tuesday.

PTV were given a target of 243 runs to win against Ghani Glass. At the end of the third day, they had scored 204-2. On Tuesday they scored 39 more runs needed for victory after the loss of one wicket. Shamil Hussain remained unbeaten on 143, his innings included 14 fours and 4 sixes.

State Bank defeated Higher Education by 4 wickets in another match. It was State Bank’s fourth victory in five matches. State Bank had to achieve target of 293 runs to win at the State Bank Stadium. They started their innings at 158 runs for 3 wickets.

Usman Salahuddin could not complete his 29th century in first-class cricket by just 3 runs and was dismissed for 97. He added 91 runs in the fourth wicket partnership with Fawad Alam, 48 runs in the fifth wicket partnership with Ramiz Aziz and 47 runs in the sixth wicket partnership with Ghazi Ghauri to make his team win possible. Fawad was dismissed for 52 runs while Ramiz was bowled out for 25 runs. Ghazi Ghauri remained not out on 32 runs. The sixth round of the President’s Trophy will begin on February 7.
