PTV’s Israr shines with hat-trick against Ghani Glass

KARACHI: Pakistan Television’s left arm pacer Israr Hussain picked up 7-72 including a hat-trick against Ghani Glass on the opening day of the fifth round of President’s Trophy Grade-I at the KCCA Stadium, Karachi on Saturday.

Israr’s seven-for, which came in 18 overs, helped his team bundle out Ghani Glass for 238 in 55.2 overs. His hat-trick came when the opposition were 52-2.

Haseeb-ur-Rehman (88, 125b, 12x4s) and Shadab Khan (55, 73b, 5x4s) contributed with half-centuries for Ghani Glass. In turn, PTV had scored 130 runs for the loss of one wicket at close of play with Waqar Hussain (69 not out, 80b, 9x4s) and Mohammad Taha (38 not out, 59b, 4x4s) on the crease.

At the NBP Sports Complex, Water and Power Development Authority’s (WAPDA) Imran Dogar struck 110 off 245 balls with the help of 15 fours against Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL).

Mohammad Ammar contributed with a 96-ball 58 inclusive of seven fours and one six as WAPDA finished the day with 285-5 in 84 overs.

Eshaal Associates’ Musa Khan picked up 5-52 against Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), his seventh first-class five-for, as he also crossed the 100 first-class wickets milestone at the UBL Sports Complex.

OGDCL were restricted to 187 all out in 48.1 overs. In turn, Eshaal Associates were 110-4 in 34 overs, when stumps were drawn.

State Bank of Pakistan’s (SBP) Aftab Khan ran riot with the ball picking up 5-24 to dismiss Higher Education Commission (HEC) for 126 all out in 40 overs. Ali Hamza Wasim remained unbeaten for a 100-ball 57 hitting six fours.

In reply, SBP were reeling at 109-7 at close of play. HEC’s Waseem Akram picked up four wickets for 43 runs in 10 overs to help his team stage a comeback.
