Punjab weightlifting trials for National Games on March 16

LAHORE: The Punjab Weightlifting Association (PWLA) on Thursday announced the trials to select the men’s and women’s weightlifting teams to represent Punjab at the 35th National Games 2025, which will be held in Karachi from May 1 to 9, 2025.

The trials are open to all eligible weightlifters from affiliated divisional weightlifting associations in Punjab and will take place on March 16 at 9am at the Punjab University ground near Choburjee, Lahore.

The weight categories for the trials are as follows: Men: 60kg, 65kg, 71kg, 79kg, 88kg, 98kg, 110kg, and over 110kg. Women: 48kg, 53kg, 58kg, 63kg, 69kg, 77kg, 86kg, and over 86kg. PWA has asked the athletes interested to register and report to the General Secretary of the Punjab Weightlifting Association, Aqeel Javed Butt, by March 12, 2025.
