Rawalpindi Chess event to be held on 15th

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi District Chess Association (RDCA) in partnership with the Chess Association of Punjab is thrilled to announce the much-anticipated 13th Rawalpindi Chess Tournament will take place on March 15 here at the Quetta Chinar Restaurant on Saidpur Road, says a press release.

The chess event promises to be a thrilling celebration of chess, bringing together players of all skill levels to compete, connect, and showcase their talent. The tournament is designed to uncover and nurture new chess talent, offering a unique opportunity for players to test their skills in a competitive yet welcoming environment.

With a total prize pool of Rs20,000 the event will reward the top eight players, while all participants will receive certificates of participation and the top three winners will be honoured with medals.

Shaharyar Tariq, RDCA General Secretary, expressed his excitement about organizing much awaited event. “Whether you’re a seasoned player or a beginner, the 13th Rawalpindi Chess Tournament offers an unparalleled opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of chess,” he said.

Highlights of the event include Swiss system, 7 rounds, 10+5 time control format at Quetta Chinar Restaurant. Registration deadline is March 14, 2025 (limited to 40 participants as early registration will be encouraged).
