LAHORE: The department of commerce of China’s Shandong province recently hosted the China (Shandong)-Pakistan Economic and Trade Matchmaking Conference to foster stronger trade ties, technology transfer, investment and factory construction between the two countries.
The conference was held alongside the recent Pakistan Industrial Exhibition, bringing together representatives from over 40 enterprises in Shandong and more than 100 Pakistani businesspeople for in-depth discussions across various topics. The lively atmosphere saw representatives from both sides actively engaging and seeking collaboration opportunities. Shandong enterprise representatives introduced their competitive products and technologies, highlighting Shandong’s strengths in manufacturing, high-tech industries and other sectors. Pakistani attendees showed strong interest in these offerings, and preliminary negotiations led to multiple cooperation agreements.
The matchmaking conference provided a platform for direct communication, information sharing and resource alignment, giving Shandong enterprises a clearer view of the Pakistani market’s demand and potential. At the same time, Pakistani businesses gained insight into the technological capabilities and product quality of Chinese companies, paving the way for future collaboration.
Alongside the matchmaking conference, Shandong companies also participated in the 8th Pakistan Industrial Expo, which featured nearly a hundred Chinese manufacturers under the theme ‘Promoting China-Pakistan Cooperation and Building the Industrial Future Together’. The expo showcased cutting-edge products and technologies in machine tools, engineering machinery, automotive equipment, hardware, and building materials, creating a vital platform for deepening Sino-Pakistani cooperation and market expansion.
The expo, which runs until November 11, included multiple forums and seminars where industry experts and scholars discussed topics such as industrial development and technological innovation. This event bolstered industrial cooperation between China, Pakistan and South Asia, opening new avenues for companies to expand internationally and achieve business growth.
