KARACHI: Former England Test fast bowler Ryan Sidebottom has arrived in Karachi as Sidebottom is one of the bowling coaches hired for the Engro Cricket Coaching Project.

The first phase of the project will involve Under-17 cricketers while the second will be comprising Under-19 players. On his arrival, Sidebottom said: “It is a pleasure thing to be back in Pakistan and I am enjoying every moment here. The people here are very nice and the food is very good.”

Sidebottom added that he came to Pakistan after twenty years and was happy to visit again. In the camp, besides batting, bowling and fielding some other aspects of the game would be worked on. It’s a good experience for me as a coach too.

The first phase of the Engro Coaching Project is underway at the Hanif Muhammad High Performance Center under the supervision of four elite foreign coaches as the first phase began on January 12. The foreign coaches include former England Test cricketer Ryan Sidebottom, South Africa’s Siyabonga Sibia, Ryan Marvin, New Zealand’s Scott McLean and England’s renowned physiotherapist Javed Mughal. PCB Head of Youth Development Azhar Ali is also present at the Engro Camp. The Under-19 players will participate in the second phase that will continue until February 8.
