ISLAMABAD: Some members of the parliamentary party of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf may write a letter to the party’s founder against chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan.
It was learnt that the party legislators have accused Gohar of taking decisions against the party’s interests while expressing reservations about his dealing of the parliamentary affairs.
Sources claimed that PTI MNA Dr Amjad Khan raised questions on Gohar, who opposed the bill he had presented on free health facilities in the House standing committee.
They contended Dr Amjad had also contacted Aseefa Bhutto Zardari and the PMLN leadership on the bill. Sources said that another party lawmaker Changaiz Khan Kakar also expressed reservations about the party chairman and revealed that he also had prepared a bill for the High Court it was opposed too.
Sources said he charged that the party members bring bills but Gohar opposes them. According to sources, the founder of PTI will be informed about this situation and that consultations are not held regarding the members’ proposed legislation.
However, they claimed Dr Amjad Khan said that this is an internal matter of our party and he does not want to discuss it in the media. Likewise, Changaiz Kakar maintained that there was a misunderstanding with Barrister Gohar regarding a bill.
When contacted, PTI Information Secretary and Spokesman Sh. Waqas Akram played down the matter and said that there was nothing like that in the party, as the parliamentary party is open to all to express views and share concerns, if any, and members are free to express their opinions and ideas.
Some members, he noted, may have some differences of not so important in nature, which they freely raise and discuss. He added all have access to Imran Khan; some of them have direct access while others may send their message (s) through the lawyers to the party founder chairman.
